The RockBox Destroyer line of pedalboards has been in planning, development, and testing stages throughout the past year. The Destroyer is the culmination of ideas, suggestions, thoughts, and opinions of guitar players throughout the nation. We took their advice, put our spin on it, and here we are.
RockBox believes that it is guitar players collectively that make it possible for us to continue moving forward. It is because of this that we are extremely open and receptive to suggestions, comments, and advice. The conception of the Destroyer (patent applied for) is proof of that fact. The Destroyer is a perfect example of what can happen when a company listens to its customers and is willing to make their ideas a reality.
The Destroyer line will have two basic templates, or "floor plans." One of the templates will include an extended front row to accommodate a bypass strip/looper without consuming space that pedals would normally need. The other template will not have the extended front end, and will not be built with the looper in mind. That is the basic difference between the two templates. Since each and every Destroyer will be custom sized and built to the specifications of the customer, the templates serve merely as a basic starting point.
Both templates allow the guitar player to custom-wire their board to their liking, while retaining the ability to change it up later on. We understand the neverending quest for tone, which involves lots of pedal changes in many cases. That's why we don't offer a flat-top board with "custom" holes drilled all through it for cable routing. While that may work for a while, once you inevitably decide to switch pedals around, you have few options. With this design, you will always be able to change things up without the hassle.
The Destroyer is a modular system, in that, each component option (i.e. power, bypass strip / looper, input and output jacks, etc) can be integrated independently of the others, depending on customer specifications. For instance, if one customer wanted a Destroyer with no input or output jacks, but wanted power and a bypass strip/looper, we can do that no problem. There will be no such thing as a "stock" Destroyer. Each customer will have different size requirements, accessory needs, and option preferences. Since there are so many options and configurations available for the Destroyer, we will spend whatever amount of time is necessary to answer your questions and help you through the process of figuring out what you need and don't need.
The first of the two "templates" has now been officially released. The second will be released within the next few weeks.
Take some time and browse around the Destroyer pages, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask via e-mail or telephone (see contact page). If we find that the questions are getting numerous, we may end up posting a FAQ page, but until then, please contact us with any questions you may have.

The following companies offer some of the best gear available, along with outstanding customer service. You can't go wrong with any company listed on this page.
"Ant" at MaxxPlay has mastered the art of true bypass. He builds some of the finest point-to-point hand wired loopers and switchers on the market today. I own a MaxxPlay Custom 4-loop box with master bypass and tuner out. Not only does this box save my tone, it also puts control of my pedals right up at the front of my board.
Check out all of Ant's hand-wired, tone-saving true bypass loopers and switchers by clicking his logo above.

I founded RockBox Pedalboards due to the serious lack of affordable, custom pedalboards available to guitar players. I was looking for a pedalboard at the time, and when I discovered what some of the major companies were charging for a no-frills pedalboard setup, I was amazed. That's when I built my first pedalboard out of 3/4" birch plywood and covered it in indoor/outdoor carpet (just so we're clear, I do NOT use indoor/outdoor carpet on RockBox boards or cases...just the first one I made for myself). It was a huge, heavy monstrosity and my pedals had no protection. It was hard to fit into the car with all of my other gear, and my pedals were getting beaten badly everytime I went anywhere.
I began working on an improved design using suggestions from fellow guitarists, and I eventually ditched the slanted design I started with in favor of the more practical tiered design. From that point, it was only a matter of creating a design with an integrated case. Once I figured that out, the refining process began. I started selling pedalboards every now and then on Ebay, but soon needed a better venue in which to give people more options. No two people are alike when it comes to their gear, so this website was born out of necessity to offer what was really needed: the ability to offer completely customized rigs.
Established in early 2005, and located in Brandon, Mississippi, RockBox Pedalboards' mission is to provide the serious musician with a top-quality, hand-crafted alternative to the less functional, overpriced "big name" pedalboards on the market today.
All RockBox Pedalboards are built using materials that are above and beyond the quality of what is frequently used by most large manufacturers and small builders alike. Each pedalboard is individually hand-crafted with a strict attention to detail and level of craftsmanship which simply does not exist in the mass-produced boards.
In addition, RockBox includes standard features that are either costly options, or simply not available with other pedalboard manufacturers/builders. (i.e. integrated hard road case, standard butterfly latches, etc.)
With RockBox Pedalboards, you, the customer, are also afforded a level of customization that simply cannot be found anywhere else for the price.
I have been an active musician for the past 20 years and guitar has been a part of that for the past 12 or so. I have a background in carpentry that dates back to the 80's. I served as an active-duty Marine Infantryman during the late 90's and early 2000's. Most importantly, I am more than willing to spend whatever time is necessary to help you make an informed pedalboard decision that you will be happy with for years to come.

Ordering a RockBox Pedalboard is simple. Just e-mail or call using the information provided in the Contact section of this website.
Let us know what you have in mind, whether it is a Standard model, a Custom build (requires Custom Quote Request Form found in Custom section), or a Destroyer,
and we'll make sure that you get exactly what you need and want.
We've had several people ask us why we don't have a "buy it now" checkout on this site. Here's the reason:
Every customer is different, with different needs and wants. When we build a board, we don't use the "cookie cutter" approach which tends to leave the customer with few options as to what they get. There are many options available for every RockBox Pedalboard, and given that one person may or may not want a board that is exactly the same as the previous customer, we like to give everyone a chance to choose their own options. Cases can be modified, several different types of handles and latches can be used, retractable handles and wheels can be integrated, and custom tier lengths and widths may be necessary to accommodate customer needs. Nothing is concrete until the customer makes their final decision, and we'll never rush a customer into making that decision. Our time is your time.
I guess you can call us old-fashioned, but sometimes, old-fashioned just works better, especially when trying to meet individual customer needs.
We haven't had a customer yet that has complained that they didn't get what they ordered, or that we didn't meet or exceed their expectations.
If you take a little extra time to tell us what you want, we'll take the extra time to make sure you get it.
